There are many amazing, influential, intelligent, and important guitarists, such as Pete Townshend, Chuck Berry, and Eric Clapton (saw him in Sydney, Australia, in '95. ReplyDeleteI think you'd really appreciate this girl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7UqV_5rVTNc It's AMAZING. Not happy place music, but her talent is mesmerizing.
ReplyDeleteOh, Eric Clapton - love him! This guy is good too!
ReplyDeleteAgree entirely with this blog post!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved the guitar, and now living with a guitar player am being introduced to hitherto unheard of joys. My latest favourite is Richard Thompson, though Steve Earl comes a very close second.
ReplyDeleteJust seen your question re the cake tins for chocolate yogurt cake. What an omission! This is one of those cakes you could bake in any type of receptacle, which is one of the reasons I like it so, but I used 20cm sandwich tins for the one in the post.
ReplyDeletei've been so obsessed with slide guitar, or the "crying guitar" lately. do you have any recommendations for that kind of sound?
ReplyDeletei'm no expert i'm afraid. the most slide guitar i'm familiar with is the old rock (70's). have you put in 'slide guitar' on youtube?
DeleteI adore a well played guitar! I remember a Vicky Cristina Barcelona scene with a amazing spanish guitar, have you seen it?
ReplyDeleteCool! Don't forget Stevie Ray Vaughan!
